Crochet Toaster Cover by meekssandygirl Crochet Toaster Cover by meekssandygirl
This was really fun to make! It is a slipcover for a toaster.

Update: I think a lot of folks don't know why a toaster would need a cover, but it is a generational thing. I can remember both my Grandmas had these. I think back then they covered them to keep dust etc out of them, or to update/decorate their kitchens :)

The suggester said: "Love the subtle humor behind the concept, a toaster cover crocheted in the shape and form of a toaster!" ~meekssandygirl creates wonderfully intricate and detailed crochet works, Crochet Toaster Cover is an incredibly useful and fun work of art, it even comes with crochet toast! How awesome is that! ( Suggested by Kapow2003 and Featured by MyntKat )

this I love very much. I've seen a LOT of toaster cozies in my time, but this... brilliant. LOVE the retro designs. It looks like it's for a very specific toaster model, having, as it does, the form fitted spots for the handles and toast setting dial.

Do you make and sell these? very interested.

its beautiful! I remember toaster covers, blender covers, kleenex box and toilet paper covers, I think there was probably a cover for everything. My grandmothers ( and elderly neighbors) lived through the "great depression". I imagine it gave them a way to update their kitchens etc. without spending money on new appliances. One of my grandmothers had little lace doilies on all the arms and backs of her chairs. She made her own lace for clothes. I would use one just to hide the ugly toaster myself if I wasn't too lazy to make one.
